Location
Saint-Tropez sits on a peninsula on the Var coast, facing the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime. Pampelonne beach lies just south of the town. The fishing village became famous at the end of the 19th century through painters such as Paul Signac, and later through the 1956 film And God Created Woman with Brigitte Bardot.
Getting there by public transport
Saint-Tropez has no train station. From Saint-Raphaël Valescure station, take ZOU! bus line 876, which runs via Sainte-Maxime. ZOU! lines 878 and 879 run from Toulon station. Les Bateaux Verts sail all year from Sainte-Maxime and Port Grimaud, Les Bateaux Bleus from Saint-Raphaël, and Trans Côte d’Azur from Cannes and Nice in high season.
