Location
Saint-Tropez sits on a peninsula on the Var coast, facing the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime. The town began as a fishing village and became famous through painters such as Paul Signac at the end of the 19th century and through the 1956 film And God Created Woman with Brigitte Bardot. Pampelonne beach lies just south of the town.
Getting there by public transport
Saint-Tropez has no train station. Take ZOU! bus line 876 from Saint-Raphaël Valescure station via Sainte-Maxime, or ZOU! lines 878 and 879 from Toulon station. Les Bateaux Verts sail all year from Sainte-Maxime and Port Grimaud, Les Bateaux Bleus sail from Saint-Raphaël, and Trans Côte d’Azur sails from Cannes and Nice in high season.
