Location
Saint-Tropez sits on a peninsula on the Var coast, facing the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime. Pampelonne beach lies just south of the town. The village was a fishing settlement that became famous through painters such as Paul Signac at the end of the 19th century and through the 1956 film And God Created Woman with Brigitte Bardot.
Getting there by public transport
Saint-Tropez has no train station. From Toulon station, take ZOU! lines 878 or 879. From Saint-Raphaël Valescure station, take ZOU! bus line 876, which runs via Sainte-Maxime. Les Bateaux Verts sail all year from Sainte-Maxime and Port Grimaud, and Les Bateaux Bleus sail from Saint-Raphaël.
