Location
Saint-Tropez sits on a peninsula on the Var coast, facing the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime, with Pampelonne beach just to the south. The town was once a fishing village that became famous through painters such as Paul Signac at the end of the 19th century. It later gained wider fame with the 1956 film And God Created Woman with Brigitte Bardot.
Getting there by public transport
Saint-Tropez has no train station. From Toulon station, take ZOU! bus line 878 or 879. From Saint-Raphaƫl Valescure station, take ZOU! bus line 876, which runs via Sainte-Maxime. Les Bateaux Verts also sail all year from Sainte-Maxime and Port Grimaud.
