Location
Cannes sits on the French Riviera between Nice and Saint-Raphaël. Boats leave from the Vieux Port for the Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, only a few minutes offshore. The port lies below Le Suquet, the old town on the hill, and next to the Palais des Festivals, home of the Cannes Film Festival since 1946.
Getting there by public transport
Take a TGV or TER train to Cannes station on rue Jean Jaurès. From the station it is about a 7 minute walk to the Palais des Festivals and the Vieux Port, or take Palm Bus line 1 between Gare SNCF and Gare Maritime, about every 5 minutes.
