Location
Cannes sits on the French Riviera between Nice and Saint-Raphaël. From the Vieux Port, the Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat are only a few minutes offshore. The port lies next to the Palais des Festivals, home of the Cannes Film Festival, held since 1946, and below Le Suquet, the old town on the hill.
Getting there by public transport
Cannes station, Gare SNCF de Cannes on rue Jean Jaurès, is served by TGV and TER trains along the coast. From the station it is about a 7 minute walk to the Palais des Festivals and the Vieux Port, or you can take Palm Bus line 1 to Gare Maritime, about every 5 minutes.
