Location
Cannes sits on the French Riviera between Nice and Saint-Raphaël. The Vieux Port lies next to the Palais des Festivals, home of the Cannes Film Festival since 1946, and below Le Suquet, the old town on the hill. Boats from here reach the Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, a few minutes offshore.
Getting there by public transport
From Cannes station (Gare SNCF de Cannes, rue Jean Jaurès), served by TGV and TER trains along the coast, the Palais des Festivals and Vieux Port are about a 7 minute walk. You can also take Palm Bus line 1 between Gare SNCF and Gare Maritime, about every 5 minutes.
