Location
Cannes sits on the French Riviera between Nice and Saint-Raphaël. Boats leave from the Vieux Port, next to the Palais des Festivals and below Le Suquet, the old town on the hill, and reach the Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, within a few minutes. The Cannes Film Festival has been held here since 1946.
Getting there by public transport
Take a TGV or TER train to Cannes station (Gare SNCF de Cannes, rue Jean Jaurès). From there it is about a 7 minute walk to the Palais des Festivals and the Vieux Port, or you can take Palm Bus line 1 between Gare SNCF and Gare Maritime, about every 5 minutes.
