Hyères was one of the first winter resorts of the Riviera in the 19th century.
Getting there by public transport
Take the TER from Toulon to Hyères station, about 20 minutes, or connect from Marseille Saint-Charles in about 1h15 to 1h30. From the town centre stop Jean Jaurès, Réseau Mistral bus line 67 reaches the port in about 18 minutes. Toulon-Hyères airport is linked to the centre and the station by a Mistral bus line.
