Location
Port Saint-Pierre in Hyères (Hyères-les-Palmiers) sits on the Var coast between Toulon and Saint-Tropez and faces the Golden Isles. Boats to Port-Cros and Le Levant leave from the port of Hyères, while boats to Porquerolles leave from La Tour Fondue on the Giens peninsula. Hyères was one of the first winter resorts of the Riviera in the 19th century, and Port-Cros became a national park in 1963.
Getting there by public transport
From Marseille Saint-Charles, take the train to Hyères, about 1h15 to 1h30. From Toulon, take the TER line to Hyères station, about 20 minutes. From the Hyères town centre, take Réseau Mistral bus line 67 from the Jean Jaurès stop to the port, about 18 minutes.
