About the boat
Built in 2002 by Jeanneau, a Vendee yard founded in 1957 in Les Herbiers and part of Groupe Beneteau, the Leader 705 is 24 feet (7.2 m) long with a 200 hp engine, seven guest places and one small cabin with berths. It has a sun shade, a shower, a kitchen, a fridge and a toilet, and it suits beginners.
Location
Mandelieu-La Napoule lies just west of Cannes at the foot of the Esterel massif, known for its red rocks. The port sits right next to the Chateau de la Napoule, a 14th century castle that the American artist Henry Clews and his wife Marie restored from 1918.
Getting there by public transport
From Mandelieu-La Napoule station on Place de la Fontaine, near the seafront, TER line 8 runs towards Cannes, Nice and Ventimiglia. Palm Bus line 22 runs along the seafront from Le Trayas and Théoule-sur-Mer through La Napoule to Cannes La Bocca and Cannes, and Palm Express line A links Mandelieu centre with Cannes centre about every 12 minutes. Cannes TGV station is 7 km away.
