Location
Port Saint-Pierre sits in Hyères on the Var coast between Toulon and Saint-Tropez, facing the Golden Isles of Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant. Boats to Port-Cros and Le Levant leave from the Hyères port, while boats to Porquerolles leave from La Tour Fondue on the Giens peninsula. Port-Cros became a national park in 1963, and Hyères was one of the first winter resorts of the Riviera in the 19th century.
Getting there by public transport
Take the TER train from Toulon, about 20 minutes, to Hyères station, the end of the line. From Marseille Saint-Charles, allow about 1h15 to 1h30 with connections. From the town centre, take Réseau Mistral bus line 67 from the Jean Jaurès stop to the port, about 18 minutes. Toulon-Hyères airport is a few kilometres from the centre and is linked by a Mistral bus line.
