Boats leave from here for the Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, only a few minutes offshore. The Cannes Film Festival has been held at the Palais since 1946.
Getting there by public transport
Take a TGV or TER train to Cannes station, Gare SNCF de Cannes on rue Jean Jaurès. From the station it is about a 7 minute walk to the Palais des Festivals and the Vieux Port, or you can take Palm Bus line 1 between Gare SNCF and Gare Maritime, which runs about every 5 minutes.
