Location
Cannes lies on the French Riviera between Nice and Saint-Raphaël. The Vieux Port sits below Le Suquet, the old town on the hill, and next to the Palais des Festivals, where the Cannes Film Festival has been held since 1946. Boats leave from here for the Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, only a few minutes offshore.
Getting there by public transport
Cannes station (Gare SNCF de Cannes, rue Jean Jaurès) is served by TGV and TER trains along the coast. From the station it is about a 7 minute walk to the Palais des Festivals and the Vieux Port, or you can take Palm Bus line 1 between Gare SNCF and Gare Maritime, which runs about every 5 minutes.
