Location
Saint-Tropez sits on a peninsula on the Var coast, facing the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime. It was a fishing village that became famous through painters such as Paul Signac at the end of the 19th century and through the 1956 film And God Created Woman with Brigitte Bardot. Pampelonne beach lies just south of the town.
Getting there by public transport
Saint-Tropez has no train station. ZOU! bus line 876 runs from Saint-Raphaël Valescure station via Sainte-Maxime, and ZOU! lines 878 and 879 run from Toulon station. Les Bateaux Verts sail all year from Sainte-Maxime and Port Grimaud, and Les Bateaux Bleus sail from Saint-Raphaël.
