Location
Saint-Tropez sits on a peninsula on the Var coast, facing the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime. Pampelonne beach lies just south of the town. The fishing village became famous at the end of the 19th century through painters such as Paul Signac, and later through the 1956 film And God Created Woman with Brigitte Bardot.
Getting there by public transport
Saint-Tropez has no train station. Take ZOU! bus line 876 from Saint-Raphaël Valescure station via Sainte-Maxime, or ZOU! lines 878 or 879 from Toulon station. Les Bateaux Verts sail all year from Sainte-Maxime and Port Grimaud, Les Bateaux Bleus sail from Saint-Raphaël, and Trans Côte d’Azur sails from Cannes and Nice in high season.
