Location
Port Saint-Pierre in Hyères lies on the Var coast between Toulon and Saint-Tropez, facing the Golden Isles: Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant. Boats to Port-Cros and Le Levant leave from the Hyères port, while boats to Porquerolles leave from La Tour Fondue on the Giens peninsula. Hyères was one of the first winter resorts on the Riviera in the 19th century, and Port-Cros became a national park in 1963.
Getting there by public transport
Take the TER train from Toulon to Hyères station, about 20 minutes, or connect from Marseille Saint-Charles in about 1h15 to 1h30. From the town centre, take Réseau Mistral bus line 67 from the Jean Jaurès stop to the port, a trip of about 18 minutes.
