Location
Port Saint-Pierre sits in Hyères-les-Palmiers on the Var coast between Toulon and Saint-Tropez, facing the Golden Isles of Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant. Boats to Port-Cros and Le Levant leave from the port of Hyères, while boats to Porquerolles leave from La Tour Fondue on the Giens peninsula. Hyères was one of the first winter resorts of the Riviera in the 19th century, and Port-Cros has been a national park since 1963.
Getting there by public transport
Hyères train station is the end of the TER line from Toulon, about 20 minutes away, and it has connections from Marseille Saint-Charles in about 1h15 to 1h30. From the town centre, take Réseau Mistral bus line 67 from the Jean Jaurès stop to the port, a ride of about 18 minutes.
