About the boat

The Ab Marine Eclipse 472 is a 14.2 m (47 ft) sailing catamaran built in 2016, with four cabins for up to 8 guests and a 60 hp engine. It is light and fast, built to sail even in very light wind, and fitted with an electric winch, a remote controlled autopilot, a desalinator, 8 solar panels and lithium batteries.

Location

Port Saint-Pierre in Hyères sits on the Var coast between Toulon and Saint-Tropez, facing the Golden Isles of Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant. Boats to Port-Cros and Le Levant leave from the port of Hyères, while boats to Porquerolles leave from La Tour Fondue on the Giens peninsula. Hyères was one of the first winter resorts of the Riviera in the 19th century.

Getting there by public transport

Trains from Toulon on the TER line (about 20 minutes) and from Marseille Saint-Charles (about 1h15 to 1h30, with connections) reach Hyères train station. From the town centre, take Réseau Mistral bus line 67 from the stop Jean Jaurès to the port, which takes about 18 minutes.
