Location
Cannes sits on the French Riviera between Nice and Saint-Raphaël. The Vieux Port lies below Le Suquet, the old town on the hill, and next to the Palais des Festivals, home of the Cannes Film Festival since 1946. From the port, boats leave for the Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, a few minutes offshore.
Getting there by public transport
Take a TGV or TER train along the coast to Cannes station on rue Jean Jaurès. From there it is about a 7 minute walk to the Palais des Festivals and the Vieux Port, or take Palm Bus line 1 between Gare SNCF and Gare Maritime, which runs about every 5 minutes.
