Location
Cannes lies on the French Riviera between Nice and Saint-Raphaël. The Vieux Port sits below Le Suquet, the old town on the hill, and next to the Palais des Festivals, which has hosted the Cannes Film Festival since 1946. Boats leave from the port for the Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, only a few minutes offshore.
Getting there by public transport
From Cannes station on rue Jean Jaurès, served by TGV and TER trains along the coast, it is about a 7 minute walk to the Palais des Festivals and the Vieux Port. You can also take Palm Bus line 1 between Gare SNCF and Gare Maritime, about every 5 minutes.
